Update #2 Regarding 2024 Construction (Phase 1A)

Dear Hillcrest residents,

The City has been working hard to advance implementation of Phase 1A of the Hillcrest Reconstruction project which includes Roundel Road and the Summit Greenbelt Area.

Below are some key updates regarding Phase 1A progress:

• Notification has been received that federal funding is available for the reconstruction of the public water and road infrastructure through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).

• A YESAB project application is in progress (Adequacy) to move forward with a land use permit required to reconstruct within the Summit Greenbelt and other areas within Yukon government lands.

• The schedule for construction of deep utilities on Roundel Road has been delayed, and is now expected to start in May of 2025. This is due to schedule conflicts with relocation of existing overhead and buried power within the right of way.

• The City has prepared an agreement form for the Roundel Road property owners that indicated they would like to take part in the opt-in program to have the Phase 1A civil contractor replace their private water and sanitary connections. This agreement will be delivered by hand in late June, early July.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to advance this complex reconstruction project.
